I need to know if it is ok to snap my pressure ga onto my left chest d-ring instead of the left waist d-ring.

I am diving Rec with a Halcyon BC with ditch able weight pockets, and a Halcyon pressure gauge with an aftermarket ss clip. The problem is I have very little dexterity with my left hand caused by a table saw accident and I have trouble reading the gauge when it is strapped to my waist. Keep in mind I am running the hose under my arm.

From a DIR perspective, no, it's not "ok". But, reality sucks and if, after practicing it, you cannot get to your gauge, you have to adapt. I doubt anyone would refuse to dive with you over this matter. Just be really careful about making sure your long hose isn't trapped.
