Okay that's fair..............to rephrase, WHY would you want to be involved in a cluster**** of a dive?

I can't think of a single reason I would want to be involved in a clusterf#%k dive.

Its a dive center with as many as 12 people on the dive.

We all go down the same anchor line.

Sometimes a group will head in the same direction as a preceding group and eventually catch up.

To separate from the cluster-%uck, either go back - which is not fun because we were just there, or speed up ahead - which isn't fun either because you'll miss stuff.

Its not like the dive center arranges cluster #ucks.
 
It happens. Give yourself some space from the group. Fall back a bit, or to one side, at the edge of visibility. Be prepared to lose the group and end the dive on your own.
