The specs for these housing give 130ft max depth. Do people routinely take their housings down this deep with no problems?

I'm considering a 5050/15 or 5060/20 setup but alot of my use will be for wreck diving in the 90-110ft range. Will I be ok with the Olympus housings or should I consider the Ikelite rated for 200ft just to be safe?

I've taken my PT-015 down to about 110 ft, but not beyond that. They should be ok to the rated depth, but I think a lot has to do with how careful you are about taking care of the housing and checking the o-rings each time and keeping them clean and lubed. I don't know much about the Ike housing, but the same things would apply.

And flood insurance doesn't hurt either. :54:

I've had my PT-015 down to 140 fsw with no problems. The camera even works in the housing at that depth. The housing is of excellent design and the 130 is a pessimistic depth limit. I've had mine for over a year and over 100 dives to similar depths to those you are going to. The Ikelite is also a very nice housing. As Warren says, flood insurance doesn't hurt.

As the others say, you gotta take care of the O-rings. Mine goes down to 100+ feet 2-4 times a week...no trouble

My PT-10 has survived quite a few trips below it's rated depth. I'm quite sure the depth ratings are very conservatively set by the manufacturers. There's just too many folks who report taking them to deeper than rated depths with no problems.

Had PT015 to 155 ft in Lake Superior. Luckily no probs. I watched it closely. Have had it to 80 to 120 ft range on about 20 dives since the 155 footer and no probs.
I did replace the o-rings on the on-off/mode selector per the discussion on digitaldiver.net.
