Vinegarbiscuit, I don't know which is more interesting...that the fish knew to go for exposed flesh or that your fiance Captain knew enough - presumably from experience - to tell everyone to keep their hands out of the water.

Good grief!
For those not willing to learn how to safely interact with critters, the "never touch anything" approach is best. There are many critters that can be touched in mutually pleasant ways, but if you go around kissing strangers you can expect to get slapped.
