There are different levels of diving. Commercial divers, as someone mentioned, do what they do because they get P-A-I-D to sit on their bum and watch TV in a plush little den while decompressing. That's not realistic nor feasible for the "sport" divers (using that to denote non professional divers, not divers limited by training agency depth barriers).

I have never known a SAT diver, who usually spends 4 weeks in a chamber, call it a plush little den.
