Objective 2.13 - Describe the basic anatomy of the ear and which areas/structures are most affected by changing pressures.

d. ossicles

The ossicles are the series of bones that are attached at one end to the tympanic membrane (ear drum) of the outer ear, and are connected to the oval window of the inner ear. The mechanical advantage resulting from the arrangement of the ossicles also amplifies the vibrations as they pass from the outer to the inner ear.
