They come up every so often here on auction, I've picked up two for other SB members, never interested me much but if anyone wants one let me know and I'll keep an eye out for you. Cheers.

they were, however, due to the material of manufacture, brittle, hence the cracking issue that plagued them.

Do you know what the clear case is made of?
If the original 1980's G250 Crystal cases were prone to stress cracking I'd say it was a pure Polycarbonate (PC) resin... glass fibre reinforcement would otherwise cloud it.
These days an optically transparent engineering resin like Sabic Geloy would perform better I reckon.
Improved UV over PC/ABS, excellent processability, higher heat and impact vs. ASA.
SABIC - Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA)
I've always thought those clear cases looked suspiciously like injection moulding tool pre-production test runs... back in the day before accurate Moldflow simulations on the native 3D CAD model, running a few shots in a similar clear resin could show areas of weld lines, gas trapping and voids very quickly.
I wouldn't put it past Scubapro to have 'seen the marketing opportunity' in a box of otherwise unsaleable parts

I have a Mk20 Ultralight if anyone wants to pair up these up together. Best of luck!
