@Schwob I would at least mark the first 50ft with knots if you plan on doing deco with it. I have the spools attached to my DSMB knotted in 10ft increments to 70ft. Simple overhand knots with 1 knot per 10ft. So 70ft has 7 overhand knots in succession, 60ft has 6, etc. It is a little clunky, but it prevents me from wanting to carry a spare computer or depth gauge for most open water dives since I can control stop depth and ascent rates with those knots.

Good tip. Did that actually on my SMB spool... first thing I did with it out of common sense worriedness (before I knew of SB) .. at least that spool I used and use... the reel I am only getting to start to use now... but it will have some knots.... May need to do that indoors so... Little interest in knotting line outdoors right now or anytime too soon (It's a bit fresh out in Chicagoland...)
