It's an interesting idea but I'd say if you get your regulator's serviced regularly it won't make any noticeable difference.

It makes enough difference that some regs, such as my Atomics B1/T1 2nd stage automatically lift the poppet off of the seat when not pressurized. The downside is that there is now a path from the 2nd stage back up to the 1st that might allow water in while rinsing.

As I understand it, screwing out the cracking pressure adjustment, or locking the purge button down make the most difference in regs that are stored unused for a long time.
 
Thanks. I'm not rinsing them with the purge open, so I take that as a "yes".
 
Sorry, I misread your post; you mean you have to rinse atomics pressurized.
