Removing flash deflector from DC800

So this is probably a silly question, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Is there any technique for removing the flash deflector from the from around the lens, or do you just pull it off in the same manner you push it on?

Like I said, probably a silly question, but I don't want to damage the retaining clips so thought it best to ask. Thanks a lot in advance, cheers.

The flash deflector just snaps off. Snap on, snap off. I would suggest pulling from where it clips.
