Rescue Diver Hareth al-Jbour moments before he died in the floods
15837.JPG

Rescue Diver Hareth al-Jbour died while he was on duty on Friday night, November 9, when he was bravely rescuing citizens from the flash floods that swept the Dabaa area near Amman.

Jbour was working as part of the Civil Defense Directorate’s (CDD) search and rescue teams, who worked tirelessly all last night and this morning to save citizens and tourists from drowning, to search for missing people and to evacuate those who live in areas near floodways and valleys.

It was Jbour's day off on Friday, but he felt it was his duty to save people’s lives instead.

Jbour was one of the rescuers who worked during the flash floods that swept the Dead Sea area last month, and which claimed 21 lives, including school children.

Friday's heavy floods claimed the lives of 11 people, while search and rescue teams are currently searching for two missing people.

I read that 12 people have died in flooding in the tourist area of Petra. So sad to lose this guy who is risked his life to save others.

So sad, may he rest in piece .
A true hero is the one who puts other people's lives before his own.
