I'm curious what her explanation is for the whole series of events. You should encourage her to join the board. Not only can she share her thoughts about this discussion but she may learn a thing or two on here.

She said, her words mind you: "I was being a typical teenager, and was acting like a bonehead."

The staff on the boat would pull our tanks off our BCs after the dives as soon as we got on the boats so I never had the chance to look at her SPG after we left the water but she said last night that she surfaced with around 20 bar. I was too preoccupied with controlling the situation and watching our ascent rate to check her SPG while we were heading up.

There is a lot of good info posted in this thread and I appreciate all the comments. Lots of advice to incorporate in my toolbox of knowledge that will go a long way to make me a better diver.

Thanks,
-Z

That's actually quite reassuring. Far from all teenagers are able to realize that, even in retrospect.

Like they say: The first step towards a cure is to realize that you have a problem.

Maybe it's time to remind her (using the patented parental look of disappointment) that d(r)iving is a privilege, not a right, and that failure to abide by the rules results in a loss of said privilege.
