Last minute opportunity to join an exclusive sharks and rays research expedition to Tubbataha!

If you’re looking for a unique and exclusive experience, tagging sharks in one of the world’s most pristine reef with some of the best shark conservationists should certainly be at the top of your bucket list.

Scientists from NGO LAMAVE are returning to Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park (TRNP) for the 5th year to continue its pioneering research work on sharks and rays in the area. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993, TRNP has some of the highest abundances of reef sharks known worldwide and is considered one of the last truly pristine reefs in the region.

We have timed this trip to fit a peak period in marine productivity when the Sulu sea is also usually calm and visibility is at its highest. Liveaboard trips are the only way to reach TRNP. The reef is some 10 hours across the water from the nearest island and it is here that you will find the elusive tiger sharks in its natural environment (i.e. no hand feeding required). This is also one of the best places in the world to dive with whale sharks.

Joining this liveaboard will provide you with a unique opportunity to find out the very latest in sharks and rays research, as well as insights into other species of sharks and rays.
