Update on my original post:
L&M told me to completely discharge both my Sola 1200s when the new 2 amp chargers arrived (yesterday). I decided to test the battery duration when I did, so I put them in the sink, turned them on to high power and checked them every few minutes. The "bad" light discharged fully shortly after 40 minutes. It was the one I suspected of having charging issues. The "good" light didn't shut off until 73 minutes. That is far longer than the rated battery time at full power, and even the "bad" light got the rated time for the old batteries.
Put the lights on the new chargers and the "bad" light responded properly... alternating the red LEDs during the charging cycle rather than almost immediately turning all three a steady green. Looks like the new chargers may have solved the problem as was suggested by L&M's people.
