I wish you good luck on getting it back. Small camera, big ocean. But at least you have an interesting story to tell.
 
Hopefully he reported the theft to the Rangers and they will do something about it. It's a shame that Point Lobos now has a theft problem. Rumor has it the perp quickly changed outfits after the theft and may be wearing different colors.

All kidding aside, hope he gets camera back, I'd like to see the video.....

Thankfully, my buddy went on a investigation dive a few days later: finding the camera and octopus still at the scene of the crime. The video evidence was "inconclusive": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq0EG6rS9xM

Sadly, the octopus managed to activate the power button with a sucker shortly after snagging the camera.
 
So, was the light attached to the camera, or was that you trying to retrieve it?

Thanks for posting that, I know a lot of us have been dying of curiosity.
