I most always shoot manual and macro and (at least in warm water) find it much easier to change the strobe power rather than adjust the f-stop/shutter speed.

In cold water, I find turning that little knob is a real challenge. Has anyone else had (and solved) this problem?

It's a little tough with 5mm gloves, but definitely better than the YSD-1 that has a lever on it that gets bumped and changes your settings when you're moving the strobes. I used to carry a small (4") pair of stainless steel surgical clamps to pull out the shutter button on my Olympus housing when it got stuck. You might try something like that. They look a little like a scissors, but have a serrated clamping edge like pliers. Hang them on a cord from your D-ring.
