Hi all,

Just got back from a week in Samui.

Only dived four days.

2 x Sail Rock

1 x Chumporn Pinnacles

1 x Marine Park.

Sail Rock was OK 15m viz som big schools of trevally(sp) , but nothing really to write home about.

Chuporn Pinnacles was nice , 30m viz , dark blue water and a ver curious school of about 50-60 Bat fish. But other than the Batfish and some big Snapper not as much marine life as I expected. Certainly no match for Richeliu Rock.

Marine park. I know there are lots and lots of dive sites here but the one I went to was only as good as the far Ilsands in Pattaya.

All in all, well worth going for the english commentary when the English stuffed the Argies (no appologies for upsetting anyone)

But I cant see me going back for a while. especially when you get DM's with 60-70 dives trying to tell me how to do a giant stride entry.

I was quite impressed with the way they insisted on seeing my card before letting me dive. That was a first.

Looking forward to Similans Surin in 5 weks time.

Any body up for Komodo in Sept?

Cheers

I'll be at Samui mid next month! Any good recommendation for dive operators. :)

I'm going in a group of 10 pax, so would it be cheaper if I charter a boat?

Who are you going with, HB? I'd love to join that trip, but will be in Norway by then... yep - I'm leaving warm and sunny Thailand at the end of August to move to Norway with my boyfriend/buddy - June/DivingGal - if you're reading this, I guess I'll be joining you in the Dry suit diving division fairly soon! Brrrrr....

K,

Looks like we will be going with Divemaster.

Kingfisher next month.

Norway , HaH , looks like your diving days are done.

If the waters less than 25C you won't see me getting wet.

Cheers

W,

Strongly recomend that you go to Phuket and not Samui!

Diving is much better and you could definatley get a deal as its off season and the boats are desperate for customers.

If your already booked for Samui , I dived with SIDS very profesional. Remember to take your dive card.

Cheers

... that includes dry suit diving! We'll see... if all those Canadians can do it :)out: ) then I can certainly give it a try.

H - are you going to see Fatboy Slim tonight??

:eek:ut:

True, I should have thought about the priorities of life... Unfortunately I couldn't go diving that weekend because I had to work on Saturday - didn't see the Fatboy either but heard the gig was marred by the crappy sound system at Impact Stadium - don't they do sound checks??

So where did you go diving? When's your next trip?

So you're going on the off-season trip eh? I hope the weather is great for you... let us know how it goes. So jealous - was just looking at our Similans video last night and reminiscing... ;-0

No more of that for me for a while! Preparing myself for dry-suit diving...

Have fun anyway...
Cheers
