Hey there,
I'm traveling on SA at the beginning of may and have may 3rd-10th for diving.
As I understood, the only real option for sardine run is port elizabeth.
has anyone here done it before on may and can tell about his experience?
what is the wheather like then? visibility?
how is it compared to the sardine run in PSJ?
should I come back another time and dedicate my time on may to shark diving around Durban area?

thanks!
Maor

Hi,
the sardine run in South Africa takes place in June-July, so you won't see it in May.
You are better off going to Umkomaas to dive Aliwal Shoal (1 hr south of Durban) and to Margate (ca. 2 hrs south of Durban) to dive Protea Banks at that time of year.
Also you may like Sodwana bay, which is up towards Mozambique a few hours north of Durban by car.
