Sorry to hear this. As a father of young teenagers, these stories spook me.

Two things suggest we might never know more on this:

1. Enough time has passed this isn't a "hot" news story. If I'm not missing anything, it seems we don't know if he was found on the surface or submerged. I suppose we could guess "submerged" if it took 2 days to find the body but we don't know that.
2. He was diving alone, so no buddy to report what happened.

Condolences to all that knew him. It's never easy, and perhaps less so if there's no explanation to grab hold of.

If he was on his RB then the computer should have some information that may be of use.
