I've had a 3 MK20's for over 20 years. I've NEVER had a problem with them. I dive in muddy waters, salt water, clear water & fresh water. But I always rinse the regulator in clean water after the dive. And I have them serviced. I don't want (beginner) divers to think that piston regulators are not reliable or subject to problems because they are not sealed. In addition most of my friends who are tech divers (I am not) use SP piston regulators.

One caveat: I don't like diving in ice water. If I did, I probably would go for a diagram regulator to lessen chance of icing.
