Probably time for new camera. It still takes pics and videos but no zoom, delete functions. Camera is five years old and used about 450 dives. Thanks for your input.

Had you noticed increased flash refresh time as well?

In my 8000G I set the ISO for 100 for normal or wide shots and 64 for macro. Also you want to set your White balance to cloudy if your using external strobes. no need to adjust WB while shooting with strobes as the color temp wont change. but if your shooting natural light you should set WB prior to taking the shot.

If you can afford it I recommend dual strobes. Also, as others have already stated. manually adjust your aperture and shutter speed for best results.

Can anyone tell me what is the largest capacity SD card that can be used in the DX-8000G?

I used a 2gb card with mine and it worked very well.
