Search for missing diver in Vinkeveense puddles stopped - Netherlands News Live
The search for the diver who has been missing since last Friday in the area of the Vinkeveense Plassen at Zandeiland 4 has been discontinued. This is reported by the police, who have made every effort to find the diver in recent days. “Unfortunately, the search has so far yielded no results,” the police said on Wednesday.
Sonar equipment
The police have used naval sonar equipment and drones in the search. A police helicopter has searched the area. Navy divers also searched for the 66-year-old man from The Hague.
No traces found
Searches were made both on the water and along the waterfront. But so far no traces of the man have been found. The recreation area, which was previously closed for the investigation, has now been reopened.

On Friday, after an extensive search, the body of the missing diver from The Hague was found. “The police have conducted an extensive investigation and have ruled out a crime,” the police said Friday afternoon.

Been missing for a week
The 66-year-old man from The Hague has been missing since Friday 23 July. After his car was found near Zandeiland 4, the police and defense conducted a thorough search in and around the water. On Thursday, July 29, a visitor to the diving area gave a tip, which eventually led to the missing diver.

Diving area Sand Island released
The dive site was researched all day Friday. “It is not considered a crime to be the cause of death. Now that the investigation has been completed, the diving area has been reopened. You can dive again from July 31,” said the police.
