Today I keep thinking about Salmon so here are two artworks about this extraordinary fish:

I collected trash from the beach and attached it to a wooden cut out of a salmon that the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association gave it to me and other artists who participated to the organization’s annual fundraising art auction. I pasted paper then ironed on top of it clay and bee wax and added the found objects, turning that familiar shape of a salmon into something surreal.

This image show the detail of a drawing titled Oak Harbor August 3rd, 2005 that is part of a series of about 700 drawings on paper that I started to create during my days as a student at Edinburgh College of Art. They are seascapes with a twist.​

Hermit Crab Horse Nativity

A visual journey to the development of a mixed media drawing on paper.

The creation of my mixed media drawing on paper titled " Hermit Crab Horse" is the result of my interest in horses, exposure to Greek Mythology and experiencing the Pacific Northwest.

It would have been a bit complicated to draw it watching a mare giving birth to a foal in a stable from life.
