Hi. Have not yet been to the Maldives so cannot honestly compare. But for pure beauty and a wonderful experience I cannot imagine any place topping the Seychelles. If you would send us a pm with your email address and I will be happy to forward our pictures of the Seychelles. You might want to check out these folks for diving as we had good experience with them

My wife and I celebrated our 25th in the Seychelles in March - amazing. Coral Gardens was our favorite dive spot, but all of the were terrific. We stayed at the Hilton - 40 bungalows built onto a hillside - absolutely one of the nicest places we've ever stayed (which is saying something).
Diving was with Blue Sea Divers.
