We got my bud's Dc310 replaced with a DC500; now we need to adapt the external flash...

He was using the internal flash reflector to trigger the external flash, but if we mount the housing onto the external flash arm, that reflector does not line up with the internal flash and actually seems to prevent the housing from fitting onto the arm properly.
  • Can the reflector not be used with the DC500?
  • Does he need to add the flash link?
  • If we have to remove the reflector, is there a trick to taking it off, or simply time for a hacksaw...?
Thanks!

I think he needs to add the flashlink and all will be right.
Thanks for the opinion, but I went ahead and phoned the company - spoke with Carl. Very helpful fellow, same one I spoke with before. He claims to remember me from January 2007; haha, maybe. Anyway, he said there is some refitting that needs to be done, but all I have to do is send it to him with the RA# he gave me. Glad I didn't just buy a flash link and saw off the reflector.
