Thanks to Vsub T I was able to get mine going. Initially it acted fully charged. By playing with the mix of tapping the contacts and sliding the power button forward I was able to get it going again. Thank goodness for backup lights!
    Cheers everyone!

Sometimes fully charged Sola lights won't turn on. With the Light off , hold the switch in the forward position for 4 secs.
The light then turns on , then off, and the dashboard lights flash red 5 times.
The light is now in travel lock out mode and will not turn on.

The light will charge in this mode but will not switch on

To exit , hold the switch forward for 4 seconds.
The dashboard lights will flash green 5 times and the light then turns on
It should now be back on operation mode.

I had the same issue with my two GoBe+, they layed unused for about 7 months without recharging (I am aware of the L+M recommendations, but life ect.).
Anyways, went to charge them and couldn't get anything to happen, tried the rapid touching of the contacts (harder than with the Sola contacts), tried holding the power button ect. nothing worked. Ended up having to do the following:

    1. Remove bottom loc-line clip thingy and remove light head.
    2. Remove rubber bottom cover. Push on the two tabs on the inside (as indicated by picture), I used the allen key I used to remove the loc-line adapter, feed the allen key through the go-faster holes to make it easier
    3. Remove the translucent plastic holder, depress the two tabs on the top on either side and slide straight up (it’s easy if you press from the bottom)
    4. Slide the guts of the light out of the casing. To do this I just tapped the light firmly into my opposite palm a few times and the guts came out
    5. Apply 3.7v current to the pos/neg leads on the circuit board (where the main battery wires go) I used the leads from my voltmeter taped to a 3.7v Li-ion battery and held it in place for ~20secs.
    6. To make sure it worked before you re-assemble, you can move the magnet from the switch in front of the magnet sensor and if the indicator LED does anything you should be good to re-assemble and charge.
    7. To re-assemble, just follow the above steps backwards. Make sure to not damage any of the o-rings and that they are clean ect. One thing to note, when replacing the rubber button cover, make sure to slide the “bottom” tab (the one close to the indicator LED) in first before you snap the two other clips in.
    8. Charge and your light should work

only tool needed was a 3mm allen key and the leads and battery.

    Hope this helps someone else.

I have a Sola 1200 as well and am not experiencing the same issue. Last dive with it was 3 weeks ago, hardly used. Topped off the charge no issue. Attempted to turn on and nada. Only 1 year old and this is my 2nd Sola 1200 I have had an issue with unfortunatly. I also have two Sola 2000 which have no NO issues so far and that I use more often on my camera. Support ticket inbound, but I have a fear that since I bought it through a dive shop online, I could be hosed.

I have two Sola 1200s and two 2000s, none of which will charge. Most likely my fault as I did not use them much over the last 3 years due to my cancers, so they weren't charged regularly. None of the procedures suggested here worked for me, but I'm glad they did for others. Despite this, I love the lights and will send them in for repair.
