Kinda reminds me of "Timothy Treadwell." An individual who claimed to know how to handle himself around wild Grizzlies... right up to the point in which they ate him and his girl friend!

Those in the "senseless Killer" camp should read Susan Casey's "Devils Teeth" This is an excellent book on her time spent on Southeast Farallon Island, 27 miles from San Francisco, and the researchers interaction and study of the Great white sharks there.

Another recommendation for The Devils Teeth, great book, I really enjoyed it.

There was a TV special with footage of him doing the same thing. A female photographer got out of the cage with him and attempted the same thing but got cut off from Andre and the other safety divers and there were a few hairy moments before her husband on the boat, the expedition leader, called everyone out of the water.
