sony p100 and housing other suggestion

I have a sony P100 and housing. The problem is the P100 is not accepting the memory card anymore. Would it be worth it for me to try and get it fixed? Or should I buy a new camera (looking for reccomendation) and housing to go with it.
I am looking for the most inexpensive option. I like the sony but I have read Oly, and Canon are better. Which would you suggest and why?
