Yep. Same old tired comments by those who want to let us all know that a 19cf pony has more air than the 3cf Spare Air. Brilliant!
But the point being made is the difference between enough gas and not enough gas.

Do people really take these on planes and indeed carry on? Really? Nowadays?

Seems like given the hassle involved with taking ANY cylinder you might as well take a useful one.
 
I see comments on the hardship of traveling with a 19cf. Isn't it possible to rent a 19cf at most dive vacation destinations?
It varies. I've been able to get a 13. Carrying 19 was a pain, no pony bottles were available for rent there. Now I just say my favorite word: SIDEMOUNT! :)
