This is about the 18th fatality in about 25 years, there are strict rules at the site about double 1st & second stages and no solo diving. The luck here is that the diver was found floating on the surface as it's a 120m deep underwater cliff (I was there on Friday @16:00 good vis ~5oC).
Basically a 50 year old diver was found floating by the lifeboat services, early saturday evening, it was cloudy and starting to go dark but the dive site entrance is not far from the lifeboat moorings.

Until now everything else is conjecture, I will post more as it comes...
The only concern is that properties around the lake (big/expensive) always try and force the local coucil to ban diving due to such accidents, until now the leader has argued that more deaths occur in the local mountains per year than here. However we are technically not allowed to park around the lake without a special permit otherwise you risk a 30€ fine, normally not enforced outside of summer weekends but it could be a way to keep divers away. Let's see...
