Missing Boater/Diver Found Deceased
A 64-year-old Stock Island man reported missing by his landlord Friday night was found by the Coast Guard Saturday night.

Raymond Fenton Robbins of 12th Street was pronounced dead at that time.

The landlord stated Robbins went to sea on his boat Friday morning at around 9:30 or 10:00 as usual, but did not return before dark like he usually did and he was worried as the weather had turned bad.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission found his boat about 11 p.m. Friday, but Robbins was not on board. The FWC took possession of the boat. Both the FWC and Sheriff’s Office Dive Teams as well as the Coast Guard took part in the ensuing search.

Coast Guard searchers found Robbins’ remains late Saturday in waters near Stock Island. Robbins was wearing dive gear.

An autopsy and further investigation is pending.
