+10 is were you need to be for decent macro with the RX100. Subsea vs. stacking lenses...Every layer of glass you add can result in chromatic aberration, that thin blue/purple line that can fringe the subject of your photo. Some will also argue glass, water, glass will reduce the sharpness of the photo. With a little processing these issues can be dealt with. The advantage of stacking is flexibility, one 167 is good for clown fish and larger subjects. Use them stacked and now you are shooting nudibranch.
 
2 stacked diopters are a better choice as there are plenty of subjects that require you to shoot from distances of more than 10 cm
Fringing and chromatic aberrations can be easily eliminated in post processing
