Agreed. Superhydrophobics is a fancy term for water repellant. Water repellant is NOT water proof.superhydrophobics have been around significantly longer than 3 years. Much of the research was done at my alma mater by several professors of mine.
Point still stands that you can't resolve water ingress through the neck/ankle/wrist seals/zipper with the coating, there is no water ingress through the neoprene itself, and it won't seal the stitching.
You have also not actually made your boots waterproof, just very water resistant. If you stand in a puddle/stream for long enough, it will go through because again, you haven't actually created a barrier membrane.
