This is a great area for diving. The house reef is 1.25 miles long and has many microcosms and a wide variety of geographical features as well. Depth can be as little as 10 feet in many areas and as deep as 110 feet. You can dive the reef ten times and still want to go ten more.
Aside from the house reef, there is a sunken island a five minute boat ride away. It is a world class dive for experienced divers. Swim throughs, walls, a cave, plenty of fish and huge fans, and currents to match. There are too many more to list, but sure you can google them. The beauty of this location is that there are dozens of very good to excellent sites in such a small area. It is also inexpensive(relatively) as compared to many other areas to stay. There is lots to do on dry land as well. Caves, waterfalls, resorts, night life, etc...and the seafood is incredible.
The dive center is Punta Bilar Dive Center. It is a 1st class outfit all the way.
This is the page of the local dive club, Surigao Dive Club, on FB.

Definitely on my list of locations to visit on my next trip.
