AFAIK, you can't 'retrieve' or 'cancel' a post, although you can simply remove the text with an edit - but its considered bad form to leave blank posts in threads. You can, however, request one of the mods to snip your post. I'm unfamiliar with their criteria, however, if you're annoying they may do it for you gratis.
Best bet is to think three times before hitting the Send button.
