It might be off topic, but there are old threads in which people re-write songs with SCUBA lyrics. E.G., instead of "The Night Chicago Died", its "The Night Chicago Dived" etc. so Jerry could have been singing; Davy Jones, Dark Starfish, etc.

Yes. I did. Saw his artwork in an old magazine called Underwater USA too.

Loved his music and may he RIP but he looks like he's kind of a menace to marine life and coral.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I did know that (guess where my screen name came from) ...

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

Here's one I posted in one of those threads ... a rewrite of a popular tune by the Rolling Stones ...

I see a red wing and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see a stroke walk by all dressed in neon clothes
I have to turn my head because his snorkel glows

I see a line of fins and they’re all painted black
My drysuit came in blue I have to take it back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a rant from GI3 it just happens ev’ry day

I look inside my mask and see the skirt is black
I see my red wing and it has been painted black
Maybe now I’ll fade away and not have to face the facts
It’s hard to find your team when their whole kit is black

No more will I be seen in shades of green or blue
My gear is black till they invent a darker hue
If I look hard enough with my canister HID
I’ll spot blue H's on my buddy’s BCD

I see a red wing and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see a stroke walk by all dressed in neon clothes
I have to turn my head because his snorkel glows

Hmm, hmm, hmm,...

I wanna see it painted, painted, painted black
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see a charcoal silhouette against the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black
Yeah!

That music echoes in the halls of this home frequently....

The Dive Instructor who certified Jerry Garcia certified my sons.

She once told me that Jerry said he was most happy in the ocean "A natural high".

Apparently he often went to Hawaii for his diving. He lived in Mill Valley in No. Cal. but
liked the Island diving.

The peace and solitude of the ocean helps a lot of us including legends such as Jerry Garcia.
