the end of March to the beginning of April, Alor or Ambon?

Thank you so much for that Dan. Alor frustrates the hell out of me because the three times I've been there I've been crewing on ocean crossing yachts and limited to surface support or free diving.

Just to reinforce Bills rule about someone having been there 3 years before :wink: - Alor is far from a navigatable area for sea farers if you hit it at the wrong time (delayed by cyclones, looking for those promised fair winds and following seas, whatever) so your clip bought back memories of Alors whirlpool surface currents and a tired ratty 24 year old me crapping myself fighting to get to a safe anchorage under sail and looking up to see dolphins like in your clip. They made everything right and the world a perfect place as they escorted us in.

Ambon also treated me the same which is why these areas are much better done on a LOB so you have a captain to complain about :D
 
i think if you want to go ambon for hammer head, it will be off season for that, hammer head season usually start September until november, unless you are looking for healthy coral, alor, i cannot describe further for it since next year my first time to go alor, but end march until August is season for komodo,
