On my PC with Firefox and Add Block Plus (free firefox plugin) there are zero adds.

Also works for chrome and I think for most (if not all) of the other browsers.
I know the owners of SB might not really like it, thus I try to contribute to SB as much as I can in other ways.

Being a supporter used to get rid of all the ads, but being a supporter still leaves some of the ads now days. I can't remember if it's a bug, something related to the xenforo move or what. I reported it once or twice but ended up having to use adblock+ to get rid of the last of the ads.

I woke up this morning with an ad on SB for gay cruises. Of course my first reaction again is WTF! Why would Google think I'm a potential customer? Then I had my eureka moment. I had been searching for news articles related to serial killer Bruce McArthur, including the Agreed Statement of Facts. And I've also been searching for news articles related to law student/escort Nadia Guo. Go ahead, I dare you. It's an interesting read. *Sigh*

So I owe my dogs an apology and I really need to get that Ad Block Plus you all speak of. And Google is an idiot. And don't read the local news.

All the computer nerds have ditched Adblock Plus, in favor of uBlock Origin - Wikipedia After adblock plus started allowing ads, from their partners, by default.
