Here is a recent Podcast that I did with Dr Neal Pollack from DAN. The overall message is that in cold water diving, how warm or cold you are effects that amount of N2 you on-gas or off-gas and that has consequences for decompression diving.

Interesting and it makes sense. That is a little different than before computers. Take US Navy decompression tables for example. You were instructed compensate for cold and/or exertion by bumping up to the next table. The logic was that the tables were developed and tested based on divers sitting in a chamber at a reasonably comfortable temperature throughout the dive.

When divers got cold it was usually at the end of the dive and they were rarely warm even at the start. The introduction of hot water suits was the first time most divers could dependably be reasonably comfortable thermally through the whole dive.

I heard Pollock talk about that study at DEMA. It has made me very cautious about the use of my heating vest.

BTW, I'm thoroughly enjoying going back through your old podcasts, and I will certainly download this one.
