SAN GERVASIO RUINS Maya Sites Travel - About Mayan Ruins in San Gervasio Ruins Cozumel Island
These ancient Mayan ruins are noteworthy in their own right, as this is the site where Mayan women paid tribute to the goddess of love and fertility. San Gervasio was a sacred Mayan site as well as a strategic site for commerce and politics in the area. San Gervasio was a sanctuary to the Goddess Ixchel and an obligatory visit site for Mayans once in their lifetime. There are engravings reflecting Mayan culture.
During the post-classic period (1200-1530), San Gervasio became the biggest and most important site on Cozumel. At the central square, you will find the most important temples, nine buildings that form an enclosed patio, where three roads connect with other squares. Approx 2 hours. A lot of walking. Wear tennis shoes and bug repellant.
Group tours/walking tour or tour on your own.

WILD TOURS S.A. DE C.V. Wild Tours
Offer ruins tours.

PUNTA CELERAIN LIGHTHOUSE (WITH FARO CELERAIN ECO PARK) Cozumel Mexico; Celarain Lighthouse and Parque Punta Sur
The southern tip of Cozumel, Punta Celarain, is home to a very small Mayan Temple as well as a lighthouse offering great views -- if you can tackle the more than 100 steps to the top and a museum dedicated to navigation. Or head up the eastern shore towards El Mirador, a rock structure that makes a fantastic lookout.
FARO CELERAIN ECO PARK (PUNTA CELERAIN LIGHTHOUSE ON GROUNDS)
Faro Celarain (Punta Sur) is an Ecological Reserve, which encloses a variety of natural wonders. It covers an area of one thousand hectares and it is destined for the conservation and preservation of the 5 ecosystems that conform it. Faro Celarain is rich in coastal dunes, mangroves, reefs, lagoons systems, the island's most beautiful beaches and reefs.

VILLA MAYA Villa Maya Cozumel
Ruins and jungle tours.

PUNTA MOLAS FARO (MOLAS POINT LIGHTHOUSE) Northern Tip. (Couldn‘t find a website)
Located at the extreme northern tip of Cozumel, this lighthouse offers a tranquil spot to enjoy an inspiring vista of land, sea and sky. Due to its acute isolation it is also a popular spot with bird-watchers and campers. The jagged shoreline makes swimming somewhat dangerous but there is excellent beachcombing and the panoramic view from the lighthouse will make you forget the difficult hike you must make to reach here (The dirt road is inaccessible by car). Along the way you will pass the ruins of Castillo Real.

CASTILLO REAL (Couldn‘t find a website)
This curious Maya ruin remains in fairly good condition compared to other local archeological sites. It consists of a pyramid base with a temple, lookout tower and two chambers. The beach here is deserted so the snorkeling is excellent (no one to disturb the fish). There are also a number of sunken ships in the waters, victims of the nearby reef. El Castillo is found along the Northern Coastal Road on the way to Punta Molas Faro Lighthouse. The site must be reached by foot since the dirt road is inaccessible by car.

PLAYA PUNTA CHIQUEROS (Couldn‘t find a website)
Beaches, Geologic Formations along the Costera Este Highway. Large rock formation and land bridge formation. Very beautiful scenery.

Cozumel Putting Course is located on the corner of 1st St. South and 15th Avenue (if you find the water tower, you can't miss the mini golf); it's just across the street from the Diamond Cafe BakeCry.
