Thoughts about this flashlight pocket with retractor?

As already stated, depends on intended use, personal preference, etc.

I am one to want things like lights and cameras tethered wherever possible to avoid any drops. Only takes a second to lose it while attaching and detaching.

I still have a SeaSoft 300 lumen rechargeable in a retractor pocket that is simple enough to attach to a BC strap when and as needed. Usually it is my back up, so little opportunity to experience any retractor annoyances.
 
I had our retractors made to our specifications. I have always been irritated by retractors that were "underpowered". To me a retractor should do just that, when you let go it should take whatever is attached back to its nest. The reason you might choose to use a retractor is to avoid having a retractor line strung out and fouled all over the place. A strong line will not do that.
