Did my first sidemount dive. It wasn't solo, I had someone spotting since it was new to me (just in case I ended up fins sticking up in the air, bobbing like a cork). I like having an 80 cu ft spare air, and I definitely think it's a great setup for any future solo diving ....

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Hey Swampy,

Why did you choose an 80cf sidemount? I am assuming that your sidemount was your redundant supply as you referred to it as "spare air."

Availability? 80s are everywhere.

Are your dive profiles such that you need that much reserve gas?

Just because?

thanks,
