Recreational diving can be many things to many people; from a short term diversion from a mundane life to a dedicated life style. Trace was/is well on the path of dedicating his life to the underwater world.
Recreational diving can also have serious consequences, especially if a diver is unfortunately at the wrong place at the wrong time or violates established diving protocol
Some how, some way in my diving career I have managed to avoid too serous injuries, but have had a number of diving companions who were not so fortunate.
Three were struck by boats
Three were attacked by sharks - one bitten
Three attacked and killed by GWS
And of course DCM
One, a great HS athlete, just began diving - caught a 16 or so pond lobster, speared a 90 pound fish
Then was bent- confined to a wheel chair- a few years later he rolled his chair up to a viewpoint at suh set and took his life
The next was a world record Spear fisherman - well on his way to be a spearfishing legend was serious bent and passed away during recompression treatment
Third one was a very popular pioneer boat captain who was bent and confined to a wheel chair all his life and just recently passed away.
Let us indivually and collectively hope that Trace is alive an well. but if he has succumbed to any of the injuries I just described it is appropriate that we provide him with all the well wishes and support we can muster and generously lavish on such a fine gentleman in his time of need
Therefore, any one have his snail mail address or any alterative method of contact other that e mail ?
