Just bought a Trilastic 5/4/3 deluxe from ScubaToys.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the suit. It is the first suit that
fits my entire body like a glove. Very warm. It is a great suit.
I took it to the local scuba park for a day of diving to check
weighting.
Afterwards, the next day, after the suit dried,
when looking at it, I noticed the center seam that starts
just below the zipper was extremely frayed for a couple of inches.
I believe that this was caused by the tank boot rubbing
on the center seam.
I've never had an issue like this, but my other suits don't have
a center seam like this so I'm kind of concerned that it may
continue to wear when using rental tanks with boots.
I talked to ScubaToys about what to do because I'm headed
out to Wakatobi, Indonesia on the 23rd of Aug, 2007
so there really isn't time to do much.
I ended up using some Aquaseal on the seam.
While it may work in the short term, I don't think it
is really the best solution. While flexible, it just doesn't
stretch like the original seam.
I think what would be nice/best would a new panel sewn/glued
in that removes the single center seam in that area.
--------------------------------
So my question now, is what is the best way to deal with this?
Can you guys do any repairs/modificationss on customer suits?
