Since @couv got me setup with my MK9/109 setup with BA safe second, I think I’ve got a bit of an addiction. On the yahoo Japan auction site, I found this nice MK10 with balanced adjustable second stage, just overhauled. The condition looked nice so I jumped on it. Ended up costing about 200 dollars total, but the condition seems good. Said less than 30 dives on it. Hopefully I’ll get to check the IP and breathing effort this weekend! These chrome regs sure are beauties...

They look perfect... if you haven't ever breathed from a metal regulator you’re really going to enjoy.

@Angelo Farina this first stage can be sealed with the bands you started making a while back, correct?
Correct. I built a mold (or mould) for these SPEC boots.

I tested with two compounds, silicon rubber at 30 Shore and PU rubber at 60 Shore. I prefer the second one...
This one:

Here you see the mould filled with the PU rubber:

And here you see it mounted on my MK10, previously filled with silicon grease:

That is bloody fantastic also when I use a couple of layers of tyre tube
Sorry guys but the elongated holes in the purge cover just doesn't do it
