Eight members of the UMMC Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation (SCIR) team had the privilege to participate in the Diveheart programme hosted by the Frangipani Resort Langkawi Island on 5th March 2022. The adaptive diving training workshop participants were from the Langkawi Scuba Club and was conducted by the Diveheart Malaysia Ambassador, Mr Syed Abdul Rahman. In this event, the UMMC team demonstrated wheelchair to floor transfer techniques. Subsequently, they observed how Mr Syed train the divers on how to dive with people with various disabilities. The model for this workshop was Nahla; she has cerebral palsy and is a professional scuba diver herself.
