In December 1980, two Woolworths supermarkets in Newcastle and Sydney (New South Wales, Australia) were bombed. The bombers demanded $1 million in cash, gold and diamonds. In mid-January 1981 the extortion money was dropped off the end of Taronga Zoo Wharf in Sydney Harbour. Bubbles were seen approaching and "specialist police" (presumably divers) jumped in a grabbed one of the two bombers.
