I just got the video light to use with my DC1200 and single strobe. I've noticed the rubber that surounds the lamp area rotates. Is this normal? I'm assuming the only opening in the light is where the battery compartment is.

The rubber hood is made to sit in channels on the light and is glued in so it is possible that it has come loose but should be hard to turn. If you are unsure if easy or not, you can return the light to our service dept for them to take a look at it.

It doesn't bother me that it turns. I just don't want it to leak. It doesn't turn that easy. Is the only opening where the batteries go?
