Volunteers for Izu Splash for Trash: International Cleanup Day 20 September 2008

I am coordinating a Cleanup Day for September 20, 2008 for the Splash for Trash International Cleanup Day. This event will be sponsored by Mar Scuba with support from PADI Project Aware.

Due to Typhoon 13, we had to postpone the beach and underwater cleanup.

Reschedule date is October 4, Saturday. Please join us in order to make a difference!

Thank you very much to all the participants to attended.

I was surprised at the amount of trash we found in the harbor, as well as underwater. We picked up lots of cans, PET bottles, and various litter from food packaging such as candy wrappers, etc.
