I have an older Surge handheld 8 AA flashlight that developed a strange problem for me on my last dive trip. It worked fine during the dive, but when we returned to the boat, it wouldn't turn off! Absolutely no response to the switch! I unscrewed the head, and then found I could not pull the inner assembly out of the housing. It was still pretty warm, and although I compressed the retaining ears back as usual, the housing with the lamp and batteries would not come out. Finally I managed to insulate the bulb with a towel and pull it out of it's sockets, and this turned off the light, of course. Later, after it cooled down, I was able to remove the inner housing without problem. It all looked okay, but I noticed the switch stuck in the upright or "on" position. When I nudged it, it dropped back down to the usual "off" position, and works fine now. I am understandably concerned that it might do this again on my next dive trip. Any ideas? Many thanks for your help. Woody

I'm not sure what the problem is, but what I do know is that the light needs to come into PTec and get replaced with an updated Torrent Xenon. Contact kpascal@princetontec.com for more information.

Thanks
